What is the best Vacuums?
My question is what do you think the best vacuum is out that would be used for high traffic areas and getting up pet hair? I ask this cause I am looking to buy a new one.But I don't want to spend 400.00 dollars for one.I want to get a new vaccum and a Shop vac. So I have to watch the cost of the vacuum. I would like to give the new Dyson Animal a try but the cost is crazy. I'd like to find one like it but alot cheaper.Any suggestions?
I need a new vacuum
Yesterday I was vacuuming and the vacuum just quit. I took it apart and cleaned the filters. My husband checked the motor and he said that it's burnt out. We need to buy a new one so I'm looking for opinions on what vacuum you have and how well it works. I have two cats so I'm looking for one that will pick up cat hair and one's that is not too heavy. I look forward to your suggestions.
I hate the weatherman
We had a gloriously beautiful day here in Georgia yesterday and as the wife is away with my van and I am left with her Jeep I thought it would be nice to take the top off and go for a drive. I quickly check the weather and see that there is no chance of any rain for the next 3 days....perfect. So there I am in bed this morning at 6am and I am wakened by this strange whooshing noise. I shake my self awake and realize that there is a torrential downpour going on and the inside of the Jeep now looks like Lake Superior. I've been out there for the last half hour with a shop-vac trying to clean up.....totally frustrated
Cleaning my computer?
My computer keeps overheating. Im sure its becuase there is sooooo much dust in it. I dont have the money to buy the spray right now. Does anyone know how else I could clean it? Thanks
Do you suck everything up when you vacuum?
Since I vacuum the house very often, I got tired of picking up after everyones mess. So I went to a store, bought the biggest shop vac they had (6.5 hp). So now, instead of picking up all of the dirty socks an panites and other laundry, hair ties,, and other such items, I just suck them up! It's so easy, and I just throw everything away when I'm done! You'd feel the same away about it when you have 2 teenage daughters that dont' like to pick up their clothes or anything else for that matter. What do you do at your house? crazy mother who makes sockies go Shloop!? or nice mohter who picks everything up and puts things back in their place?
I am laughing so hard right now.
I hear my sister calling my name from the other room. So, I walk in there, and they're all staring up at the ceiling. I look up, and I see salsa all over it. I look down, and it's all over the floor, wall, and couch. I could hear the screeching horror music in my head, like we were two seconds away from coming face to face with the killer. It's a mess! After a few moments of staring, I double over with laughter, to the point where I am relying on a clean portion of the couch to keep me standing. I gave her a shampooer, and brought her the shop-vac, and told her where the ladder was, and that's all that I am going to do to help her. I clean up after her enough as it is. I included a picture, although it's hard to see. It is of the ceiling, as best as I could capture it. She just got off of the phone with the parents. Time to hide!
Idiotness
One time My Christmas tree wouldn't stay up straight, so I tied a string around the top of it and stapled it to the ceiling, but then later on that day it fell over anyway and one of my favorite Christmas balls broke. And there was this other time when I needed to siphon gas out of the dirtbike so I used the Shop Vac to get the suction going (dangerous, but it worked) But I was like 15 so it was ok to be a stupid idiot. There are a lot more stories about stupid things I've done in my life, but I'll just post a little bit at a time for now.
A mouse lives in my filing cabinet
I can actually hear the thing right now, it's freaking me out! This is how it got inside of my house: I went into the garage to get the shop vac so I could vaccuum under the couch cushions, but first I wanted to empty the vaccuum into my kitchen trash, so I unbuckled the lid and took it off, to my suprise there were about 6-8 baby mice in the bottom of it inside and I screamed so hard and so loud that my children started to cry and we were all freaking out and the mommy mouse jumped out at me and ran accross the kitchen, now she lives inside my filing cabinet and I'm so affraid to open it, what could I do?
So what's some stuff you've accidently (or on purposly) vacuumed up
I've vacuumed up so many things. I don't really like to pick things up after I use them, so you can imagine. Infact it's so bad, I use a shop vac to go over the big things on the floor (socks, panties, trash like items, basicly anything lying around), then I vacuum with a normal vacuum to get the dirt. I've vacuumed up: lots of socks and panties (I have to buy new ones each month because I vacuum them up so much!), pencils, pens, blankets, lots of change, cheap jewelry, and such things. What have you vacuumed up? By the way, I didn't get any of those items back, I don't go back and get things out of vacuums. And for your info, I'm a 27 year old woman living in an apartment in nowhere land. There's some bio for ya!
My Husband's invention....
My husband one day came up to me and said "Hunny, do you wish your vacuum could do even more?" and I said "Yeah! That would be great!" So he led me into the garage and showed me the best vacuum ever. He found a way to make a shop vac better. Don't ask me how, I have no idea. This vacuum can swallow towels whole! Blankets are a breeze for this vacuum! This vacuum can suck up medium sized stuffed animals! Forget socks and panties, this thing can get t-shirts and jeans! Polly pockets are nothing for this sucking machine! Now if I do suck up shirts and jeans, I will give them back to who they belong, and towels I will put where they belong too, but other than that, it's gone! Here's a quick list of what my husband used in the demonstration:Socks, shirts, jeans, pjs, towels, blankets, stuffed animals, barbie dolls, mounds of tissue paper and toilet paper, and a bra of mine ( I know, it's kinda goofy, but hey, it was funny to watch!). He is not going to get it patented or goign to sell it, sorry! When the girls found out about the vacuum they were scared and thrilled at the same time. When they saw the demonstration, they ran to their rooms cleaning them! What do you think about my...
